How to Outsource in 6 Steps (Outsourcing Secrets Part 2 of 5)

Want to learn how to outsource without spending a lot of time or money? In this video, I lay it all out for ya in six easy-to-follow steps! But first, remember, this video blog post #2 (of 5). If you have not yet watched Video #1: What to Outsource, click here: http://www.jameswedmore.com/what-to-outsource

What to Outsource in Six Easy Steps!

Step #1: Identify WHAT to Outsource Before you dive in, you need to identify exactly what you want to outsource in the first place. This is a crucial first step, so I detailed it completely in video #1, over here: http://www.jameswedmore.com/what-to-outsource
Step #2: Locate Your Potential Employee Depending on WHAT you decide to outsource, you will have several options for finding the best employees. Here is a quick breakdown for ya: For the best graphic work, I recommend www.99Designs.com. For simple, fun tasks, check out www.fiverr.com. For the one-and-done task (transcripts, copywriting, programming, etc) head over to odesk.com. And finally to get your hands on a full time Virtual Assistant, check out www.Onlinejobs.ph for the BEST Filipino VA’s!!
Step #3: Create Your Job Post Once you know WHAT to outsource and WHERE to go, you simply create a job post that details out exactly what you are looking for. This really isn’t that difficult, just be as CLEAR as possible with what you want so you can weed out the bad candidates early. Screenshots, videos and other resources always help!
Step #4: Interview Candidates This is by far the MOST important step of the entire process. If you don’t focus your energy on the hiring and screening process, you will continue to end up with crappy employees. Sorry. Focus on asking the right questions and look for VA’s who have great energy, ton’s of enthusiasm, and an eagerness to learn to things! Remember, there is no shortage of GREAT VA’s in the Philippines! Take your time here!
Step #5: Hire the Best Man for the Job Now for the fun part! After you have interviewed a MINIMUM of three potential candidates, pick your best winner! Now, the first step is to put your newly hired VA on a “probationary week.” Spend the next seven days giving your VA a few minor tasks and watch them like a hawk! If they do not perform to your standard, repeat Step #4!
Step #6: Systematize Your Tasks Once you have chosen the right man (or woman!) for the job, it’s time to look at your business a whole new way. You need to efficiently build systems for communicating with your team so they know EXACTLY what you want and deliver it as quickly as possible. You can use what works for you, but I use tools such as Jing, Dropbox and Google Docs to manage and document everything. (Yes, we will discuss this in later videos, so stay tuned!)
